Crikvenica abounds with a multitude of beautiful beaches, most of which are pebble or sandy and suitable for families with children. On most Crikvenica beaches, it is possible to find a place in the shade, either under the shade of trees or under a rented umbrella. Many will like that at lunchtime they do not have to look further than a few minutes' walk to find a place for lunch because there are also many restaurants with an excellent selection of dishes along the beaches. Below are highlighted some of the most visited beaches in Crikvenica, which abound with various facilities and are definitely worth visiting.

Crikvenica City Beach

The city beach is located just 200 meters from the city center and is one of the most visited beaches of the Crikvenica Riviera. This natural beach has deservedly won the Blue Flag award several times for environmental preservation and beach tidiness. It includes changing cabins, showers, and is also suitable for people with disabilities since there is a lift on the pier. The combination of pebbles and sand on this beach offers something for everyone, and is great for families with children as it features a children's playground, and shade can be sought under umbrellas or in the natural shade of trees. Various cafes and restaurants are also located on the beach, where you can have a drink or lunch with a beautiful sea view, also there is available parking nearby.

Crni Molo

Due to its shallows, this sandy beach is an excellent choice for families with small children as well as for lovers of picigin and water aerobics, which is often organized in the summer. Besides picigin and aerobics, there is also a beach volleyball court, and for lovers of water sports, the beach hosts a Centar vodenih sportova and WSC that will satisfy adventurers with their offer of water skiing, parasailing, wakeboarding, and many other water activities. Like the City Beach, here you can seek shade under trees or in one of the numerous establishments where you can have lunch or just a refreshing ice cream.

Podvorska – Monty’s Dog Beach and Bar

This beach, opened in 2010, is known as one of the best dog beaches in Croatia, offering various facilities exclusively for dogs. Among other things, there are showers adapted for pets and playgrounds where dogs can have fun. There is a cafe nearby that offers various treats for dogs, so your furry friend can enjoy its own beer or tea with you. The beach has already won several awards for its quality and facilities.

Omorika

Omorika Beach is located on the Crikvenica Riviera below the hotel of the same name near the town of Dramalj. The beach is a combination of pebble substrate and concrete slabs and is ideal for families with children. Like most beaches, it is possible to rent umbrellas and sun loungers or seek shade under trees, also there are showers, toilets, and changing rooms. For sports enthusiasts, there are tennis courts and volleyball courts just above the beach, and due to the specific shallows, it is a great spot for the lovers of picigin. Various stalls on the beach offer pedal boat rentals or fun in the Aqua Park.

Balustrada

Balustrada is a beach that stretches from the square in the center of Crikvenica to the famous City Beach. It was named after special concrete pillars that historically separated the beach from the city road. Today, there are renovated parts of the old Balustrada, which show the rich history of this Crikvenica beach. The beach is a combination of pebbles, rocks, and stones, so it is more enjoyed by slightly older swimmers. The beach also has showers that can be used for a fee as well as changing cabins. Like the other beaches, it is possible to find a place in the shade of trees and rest in one of the nearby cafes.

Chess Beach

Crikvenica has been branding itself as a city of chess for years and could be called the chess-tourist capital of Croatia. With the goal of promoting chess, a declaration of cooperation was signed between the "Garry Kasparov Adriatic" Fund and the City of Crikvenica, and in 2019, the chess beach was opened. In addition to the concrete part of the beach, where there is a large chessboard with pieces, there is also a pebble part of the beach, making it suitable for beachgoers of all ages. Along with showers and changing cabins, at the very entrance to the sea, there is a lift for people with disabilities, and three disabled parking spaces are also provided in the parking lot.

Kaštel

Kaštel Beach is a pebble beach that is an excellent choice for families with children due to the pleasant entry into the sea, and especially because of the trampolines that will be particularly interesting to children. Facilities on the beach include showers, changing cabins, sun loungers, and umbrellas, but also the option to connect to Wi-Fi or rent a pedal boat and take a ride on the sea.
